His early works are meticulously executed and highly detailed Tingari paintings as in this example.~~This painting is sold with an accompanying Papunya Tula Artists certificate that reads in part: 'This painting relates to the site of Punkilpirri, a big claypan and hill site north of Docker River. It is here that two water snakes live. It was also a site that was visited by the travelling Tjilkamata (echidna ancestor). This painting depicts part of the secret-sacred Tingari myth cycle.~~Generally, the Tingari are a group of mythical characters of the Dreaming who travelled over vast stretches of the country, performing rituals and creating and shaping particular sites'.
